Entering the industry in July 2001 with one of Canada’s largest financial companies, Scott was eager to use his training and education to help families save for their future. The tragedy of 9/11 struck a few months later, and Scott was quickly educated how quickly the market can turn, lives can change and how important proper planning was.

Five years after his start, Scott entered a partnership at local boutique planning firm, and honed his skills specializing in helping business owners grow and protect their wealth. His experience helping in the day to day operations of the business helped him truly appreciate what a business owner goes through and has allowed him firsthand knowledge of how essential proper planning in a business is. Using his experience with that firm, and knowing his long time assistant Lianna would join, Scott decided to leave and team up with a trusted colleague Derek Nicoll to build their own Wealth Management Firm, Finuity Wealth.

Scott graduated from NAIT in 2001 with a finance diploma, attained his CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation in 2010, his CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter) designation in 2021, and his CHS (Certified Health Insurance) designation in 2012. Scott was also a member of the Estate Planning Council of Edmonton for 6 years.  Scott’s area of focus is helping business owners and retirees navigate through the many complex financial planning decisions they will need to make in order ensure what they have spent years building is protected and can transition to the next generation seamlessly.

Scott and his wife Jen love to seek new experiences. When not searching the city for some of its finest restaurants, he can be found touring the globe in search of adventure, fine wine and new memories. Scott enjoys spending time on the golf course and lacing up the skates on the hockey ice. Giving back is paramount to Scott, so he can often be found attending a charitable function helping create opportunities for those in need.
